Filial Coaching for parents with children ages 3-9.
For many parents you may not feel you have a major problem with your child, or you may wish to develop a better understanding and relationship with your child. Or you may simply want to be a step ahead and want to know how to deal with future issues or obstacles that occur in your child’s life. Sometimes we just simply want to be well equipped to be able to handle all that life throws at us and our children.
You may find that you do not want your child to have therapy but you would like to know how.
Parent and child coaching is all about teaching you, the parent, therapeutic play skills and techniques to help create and develop a strong and everlasting bond between you and your child. This coaching is a one-to-one session where I teach you therapeutic play skills. There are usually four of these sessions that are an hour long. This can vary depending on the needs of the parent. Extra sessions are available on request. Once you feel confident in the techniques, we then conduct a few more sessions with your child, where you get to experience the techniques in action, but I am there to guide and support you through these sessions so you feel completely confident to conduct them at home yourself. Once you begin your home session, I am then available for sessions where you can discuss your therapeutic play sessions with me. You may feel a little unsure or want to just simply ask questions about your sessions or your child. I will guide you and support you during these sessions to keep you on track. We all need support sometimes. These extra sessions can go on for as long as you wish, depending on availability. So to recap:
Stage 1
4 sessions just with me to show you techniques (You can extend on request) 1-hour session
Stage 2
2 sessions with you, your child and me (You can extend on request) 50-min session
Stage 3
Support sessions with just you and me (These are generally once every two weeks, but can be once a week, depending on the support you require) 1-hour session.
Please note that a minimum of four support sessions are required for the coaching service, so 10 sessions are required in total. You can, of course, book more support sessions. Further support sessions can be weekly, every two weeks or once a month. I would suggest for optimum success that you keep to every two weeks. This allows you to explore your sessions and to raise any questions you may have about the sessions or your child or even yourself.
See our current Parent and Child Coaching Package pricing. I would like to point out these sessions are not for Adult Therapy and any issues that may arise during our time together will be held in the strictest confidence. If you, as an adult, require further support or therapy, then we can discuss this and ways to help and support you. Please see Adult Therapy.
Remember I am there to help and support you and not to judge you.
